Port Hoppers are mainly used in ports, jetties, or cement plants to load and unload powdery, granular, and dry bulk materials like grains, iron ore, coal, minerals, and fertilizers. They are suitable for receiving materials from grab buckets or belt conveyors and evenly discharging the bulk materials through the hopper onto trucks, railway wagons, or conveyors.
Each hopper is meticulously designed to fit the customer-specified products and operating environment. The thickness and angle of the hopper plates, as well as the expected stress on the structure, are adjusted according to the density, flow characteristics of the bulk materials, and the required throughput.
Classification
- According to functions, they can be divided into ordinary hoppers and dust-removing hoppers.
- According to installation forms, they can be divided into fixed hoppers and mobile hoppers.
- Mobile hoppers include tire-mounted, rail-mounted, self-propelled, and traction mobile hoppers.

As a large-scale port equipment, the transportation of port hoppers can be divided into three modes:
Knocked-down transportation - Delivered in completely knocked-down form, it can be shipped in standard containers or flat rack containers and then assembled at the destination port.
Major component transportation - The hopper is modularized for delivery, which can effectively shorten the assembly time at the destination port.
Complete unit transportation - Delivered as a fully assembled finished hopper, which can be directly put into operation upon arrival at the destination port.
