Gravity Davit System
The gravity davit system is a specialized hoisting device installed on various types of ships, designed for the launching and recovery of small craft, including lifeboats, rescue boats, and workboats. Its design is fully compliant with the latest specifications of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
As the most widely adopted type of boat davit worldwide, the gravity davit system is usually supplied as a matched unit with lifeboats or rescue boats. In a standard configuration, one set of davit systems is installed on each of the port and starboard sides of the ship's hull, respectively.
Our country's maritime regulations require:
- Single-arm swivel davit is allowed up to 1400 kg
- Passenger ships and oil tankers weighing more than 1,600 tons must use a gravity davit system
- Small boats under 2300 kg can be rocked out or a gravity davit system
