Yacht Marine Cranes--- for lifting motorboats, life rafts, RHIBs, ROVs, etc.

YFM yacht marine cranes are fixed to the yachts with high-strength bolts or welding. They generally consist of a base, a column, a jib, an operation platform, and a hydraulic system.

This yacht marine crane is designed as an electro-hydraulic driven telescopic crane (it can also be made into a straight-arm type, a folding-boom type, or a telescopic-foldable type according to the customers' needs). It is equipped with an independent hydraulic system. The whole crane has been delivered, and the customer only needs to install it on the base of the deck and fix it with bolts. The crane has a hydraulic winch, a hydraulic luffing cylinder, a hydraulic telescopic arm, and a hydraulic slewing mechanism.

The YFM marine cranes and their accessories are selected and designed according to the classification society's specifications. The customer should designate the specific classification society. The design will be carried out under the CCS specifications if no designation is made.

Main parts

Consists of a Pedestal , Crane Column, Boom , Control station , and Hydraulic cylinder .

1. Control Device

This yacht marine crane can be operated by selecting an operating valve or a remote wireless control device.

The manual operating console is installed on the inner side of the crane column. It has an emergency stop button, a start button, and a stop button. After the power is turned on, the console can start and shut down the crane. When the emergency stop button is pressed, all crane movements should stop immediately.

2. Hydraulic system:

The hydraulic cylinder is a double-acting, single-piston rod cylinder. The piston rod is made of high-quality steel with a chrome-plated surface to adapt to the marine environment. The cylinder has a safety valve to prevent the boom from suddenly dropping due to the pressure loss caused by the oil pipe bursting.

3. Electrical system:

The electrical system mainly comprises an electric control box, a starting motor, and some limit switches.

The 4-pole squirrel-cage asynchronous motor is suitable for the marine environment. The electric control box is designed in a direct-start form with a protection class of IP56.

Maintenance and Upkeep

  • The surface of this yacht marine crane's steel structure is blasted to remove rust and mill scale, pickled, hot-dip galvanized, and finally coated with a layer of polyurethane topcoat. The dry film thickness of the topcoat is 65μ. The color of the topcoat is oyster white.
  • Check the lubrication condition at various parts to ensure good lubrication on the moving friction surfaces.
  • Check if any obstacles near the yacht marine crane may affect the operation.
  • Check whether the connecting bolts of the marine crane are loose.
  • Check if the wire rope is in good condition.
  • Check the reliability of the oil supply pipeline, especially the sealing performance of the swivel joints, articulated joints, and flange surfaces.
  • Check whether the locking bolts on the slewing bearing are loose. If loose, tighten them according to the bolt pre-tightening force before using.
  • This marine crane uses 10.9 grade M24 bolts, and the tightening torque is 900N.m.

  • Apply grease or lubricating oil regularly (every three months) to the parts that require lubrication, such as the wire rope, reducer, and rolling bearings. After lubrication, run the crane without load for a short time.
  • Paint the surfaces of all non-working parts to prevent rust. Frequently check the fixing condition of the end of the wire rope on the drum.
  • Regularly inspect the quality of the lubricating oil in the hoisting and slewing mechanism gearbox.
  • Replace it promptly if it does not meet the requirements.
  • Regularly check and clean the oil filter to ensure the cleanliness of the hydraulic system.
  • Frequently inspect the wire rope and replace it with a new one if any of the following situations occur:
  •  When the general wire is worn by 10%.
  •  When the diameter of the wire rope is reduced by 7%.
  •  When the wire rope is knotted and extremely deformed.
