Marine cranes are mainly designed for the marine environment, shore and special scenes on the ship, and the crane is very different from ordinary cranes, the main differences are reflected in the use of environment, design standards, functional characteristics and other aspects.

1. Differences in application environments
- Offshore cranes: used for offshore operations, such as drilling platforms, ships, offshore wind power installation, etc., need to adapt to the harsh marine environment, such as seawater erosion, sea breeze swaying, and small space of ships.
Ordinary cranes: mainly used on land, such as construction sites, factories, etc., with a relatively stable environment.

2. Differences in design and structure
Marine cranes: resistant to corrosion, wind and waves, and sway, with a stronger structure, usually equipped with a dynamic positioning system and a stabilisation device.
Ordinary cranes: The design is relatively simple and does not need to deal with the special challenges of the marine environment.

3. Differences in features
Marine cranes: With higher lifting capacity and wider working range, they are often used for heavy equipment lifting and deep-sea operations, and some also have underwater operation functions.
Ordinary cranes: small lifting capacity and working range, mainly used for conventional lifting tasks.

4. Differences in powertrains
Offshore cranes: mostly use hydraulic or electro-hydraulic hybrid systems to adapt to the unstable situation of offshore power supply.
Ordinary cranes: usually electric or diesel drive, the power system is more conventional.

5. Safety Requirements
Marine cranes: Higher safety standards and multiple safety devices, such as anti-overload, anti-collision and emergency shutdown systems.
Ordinary cranes: The safety requirements are relatively low, but they still need to meet the relevant standards.

6. The difference between maintenance and upkeep
Marine cranes: Maintenance is more complex, requiring frequent inspections and maintenance to cope with wear and tear caused by harsh environments.
Ordinary cranes: maintenance is relatively simple, and the maintenance cycle is long.

7. Difference in cost
Marine cranes: high manufacturing costs and high maintenance costs.
Ordinary cranes: the cost is lower and the maintenance cost is relatively less.

To sum up, marine cranes are more complex in design and function to adapt to the rigors of offshore operations, while ordinary cranes are more suitable for routine tasks on land.
