I. Project Background: Addressing Growing Demand to Build Core Equipment

With the continuous development of global trade and the mounting pressure on maritime transportation capacity, shipowners have raised higher requirements for efficient and reliable port loading/unloading equipment when equipping newly built bulk carriers. To enhance operational efficiency and expand bulk cargo handling capacity, the customer has decided to procure four sets of high-performance bulk cargo cranes.

Leveraging its profound technical accumulation, excellent project management capabilities, and strong market reputation in the lifting machinery sector, YFM successfully won the bid for this project. We commit to delivering four high-quality, high-safety YFMCC3028 bulk cargo cranes to the customer within five months as scheduled, so as to help alleviate their maritime transportation pressure and bring substantial economic benefits.

II. Core Highlights

The bulk cargo cranes to be delivered feature the following key advantages:

Powerful Lifting Capacity: With a main hook lifting capacity of 30 tons and a 28-meter boom length, the cargo cranes can easily handle efficient loading and unloading operations for various bulk carriers.

High Operational Efficiency: Optimized design of the hoisting, luffing, and slewing mechanisms ensures stable operation and precise positioning, significantly improving single-cycle operational efficiency.

Intelligent Control System: Equipped with an advanced PLC full-frequency conversion control system, the bulk cargo cranes achieve smooth speed regulation and intelligent protection, offering more comfortable operation, easier maintenance, and higher safety.

Hydraulic Luffing & Slewing Design: Replaces the large space occupied by traditional motor-driven systems, saving valuable usable space inside the base.

Robust & Durable Structure: The main beam and metal structures are optimized through finite element analysis (FEA), ensuring long-term structural stability and durability under high-intensity, high-frequency operational conditions.

Enclosed Base Design: Electrical and hydraulic components are enclosed within the base, effectively isolating corrosion from salt spray, as well as moisture and dust.

III. Meeting High Standards in Factory Tests & Securing Quality Certification

Factory testing is the most critical quality control process before equipment delivery. Witnessed jointly by the customer's representatives and third-party supervisors, we conducted comprehensive and rigorous factory tests on the bulk cargo cranes, including:

1. No-Load Test

  • Conducted full-cycle operation tests on all crane mechanisms (hoisting, luffing, slewing) to verify the normal operation of all mechanical components without jamming.
  • Inspected the accuracy and reliability of the electrical control system, safety limit devices, alarm system, and other related components.
  • Result: The no-load test was completed. All mechanisms operated stably with low noise, meeting the design expectations.

2. Load Test (Critical Witnessed Test)

  • Static Load Test: Lifted a load of 1.25 times the rated capacity (37.5 tons) to verify the main beam's structural rigidity and overall stability. No permanent deformation of the structure was observed after unloading.
  • Dynamic Load Test: Performed various dynamic operations (hoisting, braking, combined movements) with a load of 1.1 times the rated capacity (33 tons) to assess the dynamic performance of the mechanisms and the safety and reliability of the braking system.

Test Outcome: All test data met or even exceeded the design standards and national specifications. The equipment operated stably, with a safe and reliable structure and a responsive control system. It received high recognition from the on-site customer representatives and supervisors and was officially approved by the CCS classification society. This excellent "test report" has strengthened the shipowner's confidence in the subsequent transportation and operation of the equipment.

IV. Project Significance & Future Outlook

The successful completion of factory tests for the YFMCC3028 bulk cargo cranes is not only a critical milestone for this project but also demonstrates YFM's strong R&D, manufacturing, project execution, and supply capabilities.

For the Customer: The commissioning of the new equipment will significantly enhance their maritime bulk cargo handling capacity, strengthen core competitiveness in bulk transportation, and improve economic benefits.

For YFM: This project represents another flagship achievement in the field of bulk cargo crane manufacturing, further consolidating our market position and highlighting the outstanding quality of "Made in China" (Intelligent Manufacturing).

Currently, the four bulk cargo cranes have completed final painting, disassembly, and packaging, and are fully assembled and ready for shipment. We have formulated a detailed transportation and installation plan to ensure the equipment arrives safely and on schedule at the port for on-board installation.
