Components of ship loader
Shiploader usually consists of boom belt conveyor, transition belt conveyor, telescopic chute, tail car, walking device, gantry, tower, pitching device and slewing device. It achieves continuous ship loading operation by connecting with the rear conveyor system. In order to ensure the continuous operation of the shiploader, supporting equipment is needed to provide continuous material flow, such as grain silo feeding in grain terminals and continuous feeding of bucket wheel reclaimer in coal terminals.
Types of Ship Loaders
Shiploaders can be divided into various types according to their structural characteristics and operating modes, including fixed, mobile and oscillating types.
Fixed shiploader: the body of the machine is fixed and cannot be moved, the structure is simple and compact, it is easy to take dust-proof measures, the investment in equipment and foundation is low, and it is suitable for the operation of small and medium-sized ships.
Mobile shiploader: it can walk along the track arranged parallel to the quay, its operational coverage and flexibility are better than other types, and it is the more frequently used model in bulk cargo loading terminals in harbours at present.
Oscillating shiploader: it consists of steel bridge arranged perpendicularly along the front of the quay and the supporting structure at both ends, with the fixed rear support as the slewing centre, and the front support walks on the track through the travelling mechanism, so that the whole machine is oscillating around the rear support, which is simple in structure and small in quality but occupies a larger area, and it is suitable for inland harbour quayside.
Development trend of ship loading machine
With the development of global trade integration, the demand for bulk transport is growing, and ocean-going bulk carrier ships are being updated. This promotes the construction of super large ports capable of docking and receiving large ships, and puts forward new demands and challenges for bulk cargo ship loading and unloading equipment.
Increased automation: In order to solve the harsh working conditions and accidents caused by manual operation in bulk terminals, as well as to avoid dust and loss of cargo during the loading process, automated ship loading system has become the future development trend.
Improvement of environmental protection requirements: In order to meet the increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements, the modern shiploader design needs to strengthen the dust-proof, anti-corrosion, low-noise and non-polluting aspects of the technological development, such as the use of mechanical sealing, water mist pressure dust, airflow guidance, and set up an independent operation of the dust collector system.
Design specialisation: for the delivery of different materials (such as coal, ore, cement, grain, fertilizer, etc.), the design of ship loading equipment is becoming more and more specialised, explosion-proof, anti-corrosion, anti-dust, anti-pollution and other design requirements are also becoming more and more perfect.
