Our latest custom knuckle boom marine crane has finished assembly in the workshop and is ready for comprehensive factory acceptance tests prior to delivery. This knuckle boom lifting unit features dual operational functions: general material handling and certified personnel lifting, serving as a versatile lifting solution for offshore platforms, workboats, and vessel deck operations.
A key highlight of this crane is its constant safe working load (SWL) of 5 tonnes across the full working radius from 4.5 m to 26 m. Most conventional knuckle boom cranes suffer a sharp drop in lifting capacity at maximum outreach. By contrast, this unit maintains its full rated load even at the maximum 26 m radius, making it ideal for long-distance material transfer and offshore maintenance work.
For personnel transfer and inspection tasks, the crane is rated for 1.5 tonnes personnel lifting within the same 4.5–26 m working range. The man-riding mode is equipped with a full set of enhanced safety features, including dual redundant braking systems, real-time load monitoring, emergency stop circuits, and safety interlocks, to comply with offshore safety regulations.

The knuckle boom design delivers excellent deck space efficiency. When folded, the boom occupies a small footprint on deck; when fully extended, it can reach outboard over the vessel side for supply replenishment, equipment replacement, and crew inspection. The hydraulic drive system ensures smooth, controllable luffing, slewing, and hoisting movements to minimise load swing.
Before shipment, our engineering team will carry out a complete series of factory tests. The test scope includes full-range luffing and slewing cycling tests, no-load tests, load tests, overload tests, hydraulic pressure inspection, safety interlock verification, and continuous running tests. All test records will be filed and checked item by item against the design specification and the client's acceptance criteria.
Knuckle boom marine cranes are widely used in offshore energy, shipping, and aquaculture support vessel sectors. This model supports extensive customisation. We can adjust lifting capacity, outreach, and power supply, and the crane can be engineered to meet the requirements of classification societies, including CCS, ABS, LR, BV, DNV, RINA, RS, KR, NK, as well as API 2C standard.
