Scissor grab is a widely used equipment for lifting operations and material handling, which is mainly used for grabbing and handling various bulk materials, such as coal, ore, sand, and gravel. Its unique design enables it to effectively increase the flexibility and efficiency of gripping during operation and adapt to different working environments.

Working Principle of Scissor Grab

The working principle of the scissor grab is mainly based on mechanicalScissor Grab movement and the lever principle. It consists of a pair of scissor-like grab claws, and the closing and opening of the claws are achieved through the coordinated action of four steel wire ropes. During operation, the scissor grab descends to the desired position, grabs the material, and then transports it to the specified position by means of a lifting device. The design of this grab bucket enables it to remain stable when grabbing and releasing the material to avoid material spillage.

During operation, the movement pattern of the grapple usually includes:

  • Closing action: the scissor grab jaws grab the material by closing together.
  • Lifting action: After gripping the material, it is transported through the lifting system.
  • Release action: the scissor grab is lifted at the designated position, and the claws are opened to release the material.

This movement mechanism ensures that the grapple is efficient and adaptable, and can achieve good results under different operating conditions.

Structural composition of the Scissor Grab

The main structure of the scissor grab consists of the following parts:

  • Grapple body: responsible for carrying and grabbing materials, usually made of high-strength materials to improve durability.
  • Driving system: through the coordinated action of four steel wire ropes.
  • Controls: The opening and closing of the grab are controlled by adjusting the lifting and lowering of the steel wire ropes from the crane's cab.
  • Connection frame: used to connect the grab with lifting equipment (such as cranes) to ensure the stability of the grab when working.

The combination of these structures gives the scissor grab a powerful gripping capacity and range of application.
