A davit system refers to specialized equipment designed for lifting, lowering, and stowing small boats or other heavy loads on ships or in marine environments. Usually installed on both sides of a ship's deck, it can be extended outboard during operation to hoist and lower small boats, ensuring their safe and efficient launch and recovery.
Classification
YFM davit systems are available in a wide range of configurations and are generally supplied as complete packages with lifeboats and rescue boats, such as an Inverted-pole davit system, a single-arm slewing lifeboat/rescue boat/raft davit system, an A-frame davit system, L-frame davit system, gravity davit system, etc.
Single-arm slewing lifeboat/rescue boat/raft davit system
A 23 kN single-arm slewing davit is suitable for a 4.5-meter rescue boat (with a capacity of 6 persons).
A 32 kN A-frame davit is suitable for a 6.5-meter fast rescue boat (with a capacity of 15 persons).

L-frame davit system
A 23 kN L-frame davit is suitable for a 25-person davit-launched life raft.
An 85 kN gravity davit is suitable for a 7-meter totally enclosed lifeboat (with a capacity of 50 persons).
Inverted-pole davit
What drive and control modes are included in the davit system?
A davit system generally incorporates the following drive and control modes:
- Electric drive: The hydraulic pump is driven by the motor to generate hydraulic power, and the operator can control the solenoid valve in the hydraulic pipeline through the remote control box to realize the action of the davit.
- Accumulator drive: When the ship loses power, the accumulator can provide emergency hydraulic power to ensure that the davit can still complete the operation of the outboard extension or retraction position.
- Manual operation: Operating the manual pump to provide hydraulic power and controlling the reversing valve to achieve davit action is the backup operation mode of the system
Where are davit systems mainly applied?
As the core components of the ship's lifesaving equipment, lifeboats and rescue
boats must meet the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) to ensure that lifeboats or rescue boats can be quickly launched in an emergency.
- Yacht Dinghy Storage
The davit system is used for the storage and hoisting of inflatable boats or small traffic boats on yachts, which is convenient for boat owners to use the dinghy while saving deck space.
- Hoisting Cargo
The davit system can be applied to marine engineering operations, such as the lifting and installation of underwater equipment, the lifting of offshore platform materials, and other scenarios
From single-arm davit systems to high-capacity customized solutions, YFM delivers industry-leading lifting equipment that is engineered to achieve an optimal balance of performance, safety, and durability.
